One of the Tunisians is walking down the street in Paris and happens to bump into two old chums from his home town in Tunisia. This is far from exceptional, it seems. He boasts of how much he feels 'at home' there. No wonder.

Another of the Tunisians is scornful of how much the district resembles his own country. "This isn't France. This is Tunisia," he says. Well who'dve thunk that if you populate a whole district with North Africans it would end up resembling North Africa? No way! When he sees a band performing the French national anthem, he sings the Tunisian national anthem over it.

It's tempting to call this neo-colonialism, but somehow it seems inappropriate to apply the prefix 'neo' to people who are manifestly more primitive than the inhabitants of the country they are colonising. Archaeo-colonialism maybe.
