Islam versus Europe

There is mounting evidence that the government of Colonel Gaddafi is encouraging the mass immigration of Africans into Europe in revenge for the military attacks NATO has been mounting on his regime since late March.

According to testimony from the refugees themselves, the Gaddafi regime is arranging for boat crossings to Europe at reduced prices from Choucha or Tripoli. Senior members of Gaddafi's government have openly boasted that their own family members are involved in organising these trips. The illegal immigrants are almost never Libyans themselves, but people from elsewhere in Africa.

Libyan people-smugglers with connections to the Libyan government are openly canvassing for business at the Zouara refugee camp on the Tunisian border, encouraging people there to go back to Libya and make the trip into Europe. The prices on offer are bargain basement: they range from 50 to 500 euros. Normally, a boat crossing into Europe would be expected to cost between 1000 and 2000 euros.

The Tunisian government privately admits that the migrations from Libya are now taking place on such a scale that it is inconceivable the Libyan government does not know or approve of them.
