The German anti-Islam movement Pro Deutschland has been served notice that its bank account will be closed later this month, for no reason; and all of the other banks that can handle giro transfers are refusing to let it open a new account.

Pro Deutschland is somewhat like the EDL, but smaller, more urbane and intellectual, and less proletarian and aggressive. They campaign against the opening of new mosques and the like. Indeed, the whole movement sprang from the Pro Köln (Pro Cologne) movement that campaigned against the building of a mosque. They have now progressed to running their own candidates in some regional elections. Like most of the Counterjihad movements around Europe, they tend to be pro-Israel, pro-semitic and eschew any association with the traditional "far right". But that's not good enough, apparently.

This type of bank in Germany actually has a legal obligation to provide an account but Pro Deutschland will now have to go to court to enforce it.

A few days before making this announcement, another bank had also rejected a request from Pro Deutschland to open an account for the receipt of donations to help the child victims of Muslim terror attacks in Samaria (Occupied Territories, so-called). It gave no reason in this case, too, but a wish to avoid offending Muslim customers (tragically, there are 4 million Muslim invaders in Germany now) is suspected.
